The Global M&A Network completed 203 Deals and Launched an Energy Transition Sector Practice
Globalscope Partners Ltd., the global network of M&A firms, of which SORTIS INVEST is a member, has achieved a significant milestone by closing 203 deals worth a combined $20.8 billion USD in 2022. This revenue is the highest ever recorded in the network’s 35-year history and represents a 2.7x increase the value of deals closed. It reflects the ongoing growth and expansion of Globalscope itself, and its founding principles and core value proposition. The revenue was generated from transactions in diverse business categories, but the Life Sciences and Consumer sectors performed exceptionally well, with Industrials also performing strongly. The average deal value was more than USD 102 million.
Mr. Martin Paev, CFA, the Executive director of SORTIS Invest and sector co-head for financial and business services at Globalscope, stated that the 2022 revenue results demonstrate the need for a worldwide network of M&A specialists like Globalscope, who handle international deals for middle-market businesses with the utmost care. Since its formation in 1987, Globascope has grown into an organization with 55 member firms operating in nearly 50 countries. Each member brings their own geographic and industry expertise to the table, providing cross-border mergers and acquisitions advise to middle-market companies.
In addition, Globalscope announced the launch of a new Energy Transition Sector Practice at its Fall Meeting in Bangkok. The sector team specializes in M&A activities that involve the transition from coal and oil-based energy to lower carbon and renewable forms of energy production. This move underscores Globalscope’s commitment to offering a level of M&A expertise that has traditionally been beyond the reach of middle-market companies.
