Mr. Martin Paev, CFA speaks at the prestigious GlobalScope conference in Munich, Germany

The GlobalScope Partners, a leading family of independent M&A advisory firms collaborating on cross-border transactions, among which is SORTIS Invest, held it’s bi-annual conference on 27-29th of April 2022. The event was hosted in Munich and is GlobalScope’s first in-person conference since the appearance of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the multiple notable attendee firms were Carlsquare (№1 investment bank in Germany), SilverPeak, (Leading UK tech investment bank with 5 offices globally, primarily operating in the tech sector) and many more.

This event venue was Hotel Bayerischer Hof and more than 60 partners attended the conference from 29 countries. The conference provides a perfect opportunity for firm representatives to discuss currently active mandates and find prospective buyers/sellers for their clients. Forms of cooperation between member firms also include geographical target searches, sharing industry expertise and secondments of professional staff to exchange know-how.

This year’s event also featured insights presented by industry leaders in their specific sectors. Mr. Martin Paev, CFA was invited to share his expert insights on the M&A activity in the consumer sector, where he covered a range of topics including industry trading multiples, supply chain disruption, consumer trends, as well as industry opportunities & threats.

“The goal of this conference is for investment banking professionals to have an opportunity to see old colleagues, as well as meet partners from new member firms of the group, in an effort to build mutual trust. A portion of the conference is reserved for sharing local industry insights. I was honoured to be invited to present on the Consumer Sector Insights panel. We are pleased to be a part of this flourishing club with unique identities and collaborative mindsets, as everyone brings value to the table.”- said Martin Paev, CFA, Chairman of SORTIS Group.

Mr. Michael Moritz, the managing partner of Carlsquare, which hosted the event added: “The event is a necessity, the longing for seeing each other in reality is immense. A friend and client of ours, a real disruptor in Industrial tech, always makes the point: by the end of the day life is analogue. We couldn’t agree more. The world runs the risk of falling apart, multilateralism is threatened by irrational believes and cynic selfishness. The only lasting glue which helps to prevent this is trust and friendship. As many other things, these two elements need training and practice.”
