Mr. Martin Paev

CFA – Executive Director, SORTIS Invest


Mr. Martin Paev has 17+ years of asset management, investment banking and M&A experience gained at ING Barings investment bank in Frankfurt/Main (Germany), ETEBA (the investment banking arm of National Bank of Greece), Balkan Advisory Company (an independent investment banking boutique in Europe).

Mr. Paev structured the first Real Estate Investment Trust in Bulgaria (TBI-BAC REIT) and acted as the REIT’s Executive Director from its establishment until he joined ADDRESS Group as Executive Director of ADDRESS Investment & Development in 2005. He also worked on structuring Bulgarian Land Development, a GBP 40 mln property fund.

In November 2006 Martin Paev established his investment advisory firm, SORTIS Invest. In March 2007 SORTIS Real Estate was set up as a real estate asset management and investment advisory company and then in 2013 SORTIS Hospitality was established as the hospitality asset management arm of the group in joint venture with Tracklayer.

Educated in Bulgaria, the Netherlands, and Germany, Mr. Paev holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is a CFA® Charterholder, a former Board Member of the Bulgarian CFA Society, and a member of Skál International Sofia, the professional organization of hotel and travel industry leaders. Mr. Paev has passed the exams for the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation. He is a licensed appraiser of enterprises, receivables and real estate by the Chamber of Independent Appraisers in Bulgaria.

Mr. Paev is a regular speaker at private equity and investment conferences for Central and Eastern Europe.


Mrs. Ivona Stoyanova – Ivanchova

Managing Director, SORTIS Invest


Mrs. Stoyanova has 14+ of experience in corporate banking, advisory and management.
Prior to joining SORTIS, Mrs. Stoyanova served as Head of Corporate Banking Department in Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD working with some of the most recognized local and international corporations in Bulgaria as her clients. She is experienced in providing holistic financial advisory, including an optimal structure of financing and/or other relevant financial services.

Mrs. Stoyanova devised and implemented complex transactional structures with the participation of other financial institution to address the unique financial challenges of clients. In the role of Department Head, she also managed and implemented various international projects of the Raiffeisen Group related to strategic change management, turnarounds, sustainable growth, etc.

Mrs. Stoyanova’ s extensive communication and exposure to different industries gives her a broad knowledge and experience in accurate identification, deal-making, and execution of investment opportunities, as well as working out effective financial solutions for clients across a multitude of sectors.

Mrs. Stoyanova holds a master of Finance and Banking degree from D.A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Svishtov, Bulgaria.


Mr. Dimcho Dimitrov

Associate Director, SORTIS Invest


Mr. Dimitrov is an Associate Director, Investment Banking with SORTIS Invest. His responsibilities include sourcing attractive investment opportunities for PE and strategic investors, management and execution of client engagements, analyzing and preparing investment cases, financial modeling and transaction documents preparation, developing relations with investors interested in the South-East Europe region, and communicating investment opportunities to them.

Mr. Dimitrov is familiar with many sectors of the Bulgarian economy and has developed working relations with over 100 PE and strategic investors. He also brings experience to the SORTIS team in strategic market research, analysis and forecasting, new product market sizing, and company due diligence on M&A transactions. Mr. Dimitrov has served clients in sectors such as financial services, food processing, TMT, construction materials, personal protection equipment, recycling, private education, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, and others.

Prior to joining SORTIS eight years ago, Mr. Dimitrov worked in Boston, USA as Strategy Analyst for W. R. Grace & Co., a $3B public specialty chemicals company, where he provided analytical support for the organic and external (M&A) growth initiatives of a $300M division.

Mr. Dimitrov holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northeastern University, Boston, USA.


Ms. Marina Georgieva

Associate, SORTIS Invest


Marina Georgieva joined SORTIS Invest in 2015 as a financial analyst.
Prior to SORTIS, she worked as a credit analyst in the retail department of UniCredit Bulbank and in the lending department for small and medium enterprises of United Bulgarian Bank. She worked also as an accounting trainee in the financial department of an industrial holding conglomerate.

Marina Georgieva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Financial Management Master’s degree from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria.

She is a certified appraiser of businesses, receivables and real estate by the Chamber of Independent Appraisers in Bulgaria (CIAB).


Simeon Rusanov

Analyst, SORTIS Invest


Simeon Rusanov is a Financial Analyst with extensive professional experience in financial modeling, trading and active management of investments in publicly traded entities. As a result, he has developed a deep understanding of various industries and geographies including biotech, semiconductors, software and home builders across both developed and emerging markets.

Prior to joining SORTIS, Mr. Rusanov acted as Financial Analyst at UBB’s key large corporate clients, where his main duty was to evaluate the risk/return profile of companies with revenues exceeding 50 mln. BGN.

Simeon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Mathematics from Lancaster University, the United Kingdom. He has successfully passed all three levels of CFA Institute’s Chartered Financial Analyst® programme.


Stefan Atanasov

Analyst, SORTIS Invest


Stefan Atanasov joined SORTIS in 2018 as a Financial Analyst. He has prior experience in accounting, financial modelling, macroeconomic analysis, and European Projects.

Mr. Atanasov is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, with a Master’s Degree in International Financial Management and holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Stefan speaks English, German, Russian, and Bulgarian.
