ALSO Holding Enters the Bulgarian IT Sector by Acquiring the Local IT Distributor Solytron

Swiss-based hardware and software company ALSO Holding acquires the largest Bulgarian IT distributor Solytron. With the acquisition, ALSO adds another strong foothold in an up-and-coming Eastern European market. Subject to regulatory approvals and fulfillment of closing conditions, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Solytron is the largest and most successful IT distributor in Bulgaria with market share of over 30%, turnover of €110M and continuous growth for the past six years. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio and sells products and solutions of over 50 well-known manufacturers from all over the world. The company provides components like servers, storage, and video surveillance to set up modern corporate ICT infrastructures. Solytron provides solution advice and installation, logistics services, hardware, and software. The company has 120 employees and managed to triple its sales between 2011 and 2018.

ALSO Holding is a well-recognized Swiss-based company operating in 18 European countries that sells hardware, software, and platform solutions from over 550 manufacturers. Company’s sales last year were about €9.2 Bn. With the acquisition of Solytron, ALSO will have presence in nearly all East European markets, except Russia, which will fulfill its plans to become the leading full-service provider across Europe. The market volume that can be addressed in these countries amounts to around €30 Bn.
