Sofia, 22 February 2018 – In an effort to bridge the gap between classroom study and the practical needs of the financial industry, SORTIS Invest and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University signed a strategic partnership agreement.
The Chairman of SORTIS Group, Mr. Martin Paev, CFA (and an alumnus of the faculty) made a commitment to collaborate and support Alma Mater by sharing the latest industry practices in business analysis and valuation and by offering scholarships and internship programmes at SORTIS to the highest performing students of the faculty. The partnership also involves integration of real-life case studies provided by SORTIS to the curriculum, aiming to illustrate how theoretical concepts are applied into practice.
SORTIS Invest will assist in integrating training materials for the CFA certification to faculty’s curriculum so that students graduating in finance are better prepared if they chose to go for a CFA examination. If this integration is successful, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration may potentially attain a recognized institution designation by the CFA Institute.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the oldest and largest university in Bulgaria. We believe it is businesses’ prime responsibility to help students set career goals, introduce them to the challenges of real-life work and encourage them to go the extra mile while still at their university. As human capital is the most valuable asset in the investment banking and financial advisory industry, nurturing talent is our top priority. We are eager to take an active part in forming the next generation of top professionals who will contribute to the Bulgarian financial sector” said Martin Paev, CFA.
SORTIS Invest will provide career development support to students doing degrees in the fields of corporate finance, investments, business valuation and financial management.
The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Associated Professor Teodor Sedlarski, the Head of the Accounting and Finance department, Associated Professor Marcelen Yovogan, PhD and SORTIS Invest’s Managing Director Ludmil Garkov, CFA.
