American Cisco Systems Inc announced the acquisition of the French-based industrial cybersecurity provider, Sentryo SAS. Subject to customary merger control approvals, the transaction is expected to be closed by the end of October 2019. Financial advisor to Sentryo SAS in the deal was SORTIS’s partner in the Globalscope M&A advisors network, Silverpeak, an investment banking company mainly focusing on the technology sector.
Sentryo SAS was founded in France in 2014 and provides device visibility and security for industrial control system (ICS) networks. The company offers anomaly detection and real-time threat detection for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) networks. Its product ICS CyberVision uses artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to provide control engineers with complete visibility over all the equipment connected to their industrial networks. The platform can analyze alarms and control the security of company’s infrastructure, the information is then stored on customized dashboards allowing OT and IT managers to be able to access and run infrastructure security together.
Cisco Systems Inc is the global leader in IT, networking, and cybersecurity solutions. The company manufactures, develops and sells networking hardware, telecommunications equipment, and other high-technology services and products all over the world. Cisco and Sentryo have recently worked together at the beginning of this year when the two companies combined together Sentryo’s Edge Sensor with Cisco’s IOx industrial networking hardware. With the acquisition of Sentryo, Cisco can now provide control system engineers with deeper visibility into assets to optimize, detect anomalies and secure their networks.
