Public Lecture of Martin Paev, Executive Director of SORTIS Invest at the University of National and World Economy

On 3rd December 2018 Mr. Martin Paev, CFA, Executive Director of SORTIS Invest held a public lecture on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) at the University of National and World Economy in front of students from the Faculty of International Economic Relations and Business.

Mr. Paev presented industry specifics and trends in the field of M&A as well as insights from the professional areas of investment banking, corporate finance and financial advisory.

On the practical side, the students were engaged in a discussion on case studies based on deals and transactions advised by SORTIS Invest (Case studies: Cremio, TBI Rent). In addition, Mr. Paev spoke about the career prospects in the field of Investment banking and the benefits from acquiring professional certifications like the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).

The visit of Mr. Paev, coordinated by Dr. Tsvetomir Tsanov, Chief Assistant at UNWE, outlines the ambition of SORTIS Invest to maintain close relationships with the higher institutions in Bulgaria by bridging the gap between the academic and the professional world and to guide the next generation in developing professional competence in the fields of corporate finance, investment banking, M&A, private equity and venture capital. In that respect, Mr. Stefan Atanasov, Financial Analyst at SORTIS Invest and former student of UNWE presented The SORTIS Invest Internship Program.
